Our Founders

MACKENZIE REGENT, CPA, CA

Mackenzie has executed 40+ deals amounting to billions of dollars in transaction value across various sectors including energy, financial, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and technology.

Mackenzie founded Kalos after her tenure on Scotiabank's Investment Banking team. Prior to Scotiabank, Mackenzie was a lead Transactions Advisory Manager at Ernst & Young LLP ("EY") on their Financial Due Diligence team. Her exemplary client service, technical ability and leadership resulted in her being selected as the Manager to represent EY Canada at an international leadership conference. Mackenzie completed her Chartered Accountant designation with EY after 3 years of articling on their audit team.

Mackenzie serves as a Director and Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee for a non-profit organization, and is actively involved in numerous other charitable organizations.

Mackenzie holds a BComm. from the University of Saskatchewan and is a former competitive hockey player having represented Canada in international competition. She was named the top-student athlete for the Canada West Conference and a multi-year Academic All-Canadian and Canada West All-Star.

TRAVIS REGENT, CPA, CA

Travis has significant management consulting experience having led a number of multi million-dollar business transformation projects. Travis has served a variety of clients across the upstream and midstream oil and gas, power and utilities, manufacturing, and technology sectors, Travis' excellent client service, pragmatic and strategic thinking, and execution skills resulted in him being a top-rated Senior Consultant for KPMG Canada. Travis has led finance transformation projects incorporating deal integration, advised on accounting policies and prepared financial statements for multi-billion dollar companies, as well as advised private organizations in the development of business cases for strategic planning purposes.

Prior to KPMG, Travis was a lead Senior Accountant in Deloitte’s Assurance & Advisory practice where he completed his Chartered Accountant designation after 4 years of audit experience. Travis gained significant experience in IFRS and US GAAP accounting frameworks, having also achieved his US GAAP accreditation.

Travis holds a BBA in Accounting with Distinction from the University of Regina where he was a founding member of the UR Investing Program, a university sanctioned, student run investment fund. He is a former competitive hockey player and ski racer.

    We perform a deep dive financial analysis, conduct interviews, and otherwise obtain a comprehensive understanding of the company.  We think outside of the box to truly uncover value. This forms the foundation of our findings and recommendations.

    Based on the insights of our diagnosis, we work with our clients to create a road map to the desired destination. We then take action to implement the plan. If appropriate, we issue independent reports on our findings to stakeholders such as Directors, investors or banks.
