Mackenzie Regent, CPA, CA, CBV

Mackenzie is the Managing Partner of Kalos LLP and co-founded the firm to fulfill her vision of adding value to the mid-market. She has advised on 250+ deals for $60 billion+ in transaction value.

She has executed deals throughout North America, Europe and Asia in the energy, healthcare, industrial, retail and technology sectors. In 2021, Mackenzie was recognized as one of the Top 100 Finance Professionals in the world by The Top 100 magazine based out of New York City.

Prior to founding Kalos, Mackenzie was a Global Investment Banker at Scotiabank and a lead Financial Due Diligence Manager at Ernst & Young LLP (“EY”). She is a former competitive hockey player, having represented Canada in international competition as the starting goaltender.

Travis Regent, CPA, CA, CBV

Travis is a co-founder and Partner at Kalos who leads the Closing Mechanisms & SPA Advisory practice. Travis co-founded Kalos after his experience as a finance lead for a multi-billion-dollar transaction where he developed a passion for being a trusted advisor in critical situations.

 

Travis has executed numerous complex transactions in the energy, healthcare, utilities and technology sectors for both mature companies and venture capital investments. He has notable experience in supporting deal closings, calculating and negotiating price mechanisms, damage and loss quantification, and disputes.

 

​Travis’ excellent client service and strategic thinking resulted in him being the top-rated Senior Consultant for KPMG Canada in 2017. Prior to KPMG, Travis was a Senior Accountant in Deloitte’s Assurance & Advisory practice. Travis also achieved his U.S. GAAP accreditation.

Alex Henderson, MSc, CA

Alex is a Senior Partner and has 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, financings, restructurings, forecasting and modelling, IPOs, post-deal integration, and strategy, with global experience covering North America, Asia, and U.K.

 

Previously, he was a Partner with a Big 4 accounting firm, where he lead the Western Canadian financial due diligence practice. Helping clients buy, sell, and finance businesses, and leading Global Transactions Diligence training. In 2008/9, Alex assisted with the multi-billion-dollar liquidation of Lehman Brothers in Asia, evaluating over $5 billion of assets, and selling assets to investors.

In parallel to his role at Kalos, Alex works directly for companies as an Interim Finance Executive, assisting with their acquisitions, integrations, capital raising, and establishing and growing their finance functions.​

 

Gerard McInnis, CPA, CA, CBV, ICD.D

Gerard is a Senior Partner with Kalos in the Valuation & Financial Modelling practice and contributes across the full transactions lifecycle. He brings 30+ years of experience in business valuations, strategy,  governance and operations. Gerard is an active private company board Chair & Director, keeping him immersed in current business challenges  & opportunities.

Previously, he was a partner with a Big 4 accounting firm, leading their regional valuations & business modelling practice supporting buy/sell transactions and litigation. In addition, he led the national power & utilities industry team and served on the firm’s Partnership Board. 

Active in community service, Gerard  was chair of Finance & Risk committees for both the Alberta Ballet and Junior Achievement of Canada. He currently is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Calgary Chapter Executive.

Terry Chan, CPA, CA, CFA, CBV

Terry is an Advisor in the Valuations & Financial Modelling practice. He has completed 225+ valuations for mergers, acquisitions, shareholder buy-ins/outs and disputes, estate freezes, employee stock ownership plans, and financial reporting. His experience spans across multiple sectors including retail, manufacturing, energy, financial, healthcare and technology.

He has completed financial models for multi-billion-dollar energy and infrastructure projects, intellectual property and intangible assets, as well as manufacturing and industrial projects. Terry has served as an expert witness in litigation dispute and loss quantification scenarios.

 

Terry began his career at BDO LLP and subsequently joined Deloitte LLP’s valuation and modelling team where he advised on complex projects for pension funds, public companies and private enterprises.

Katelyn Rahey, CPA, CA

Katelyn is a Partner at Kalos and is focused on financial and vendor due diligence. Katelyn joined Kalos after nearly 10 years of experience with KPMG LLP. 

​She served as a Senior Manager in Transaction Services, executing due diligence on deals throughout North America totaling over $2 billion in transaction value. Kate has spent her career focusing on private enterprises and middle market businesses advising on acquisitions, divestitures and growth.

She is a technical expert in both IFRS and ASPE as well as holds expertise in a numbers of industries including manufacturing, retail, private equity, energy services, mid-stream, health-care, and technology.

Kailin Sheremeta, CPA, CA, CBV

Kailin is a Director with Kalos advising on financial due diligence, valuations and financial modelling mandates. Kailin joined Kalos after spending 3 years with a consolidator where she was the Director of Acquisitions and executed 80+ transactions.

 

Kailin led the transactions process from start to finish, including the valuation and negotiation phase, due diligence, tax restructuring, deal closure, post deal integration, purchase price accounting and acquisition performance review.

Prior to her lead role in acquisitions, Kailin spent 7 years with KPMG LLP. She served as a Senior Manager on large public audit clients, including global experience across North and South America and New Zealand. Kailin is a technical expert in IFRS and U.S. GAAP.

Miranda Bartman, CPA, CA

Miranda is a Director with Kalos and her career has centered on mid-market businesses with deal and valuation experience in industrials, manufacturing, energy and construction.

 

Miranda joined Kalos after 9 years of experience at Deloitte LLP and MNP LLP where she led audit engagements ranging from relatively larger and complex private companies to smaller public companies in the mid-market. Her valuation experience includes purchase price allocations and accounting for post-deal transactions. Her experience includes ASPE, IFRS and US GAAP.

Miranda also served on the FP&A team for a private equity backed energy company, gaining valuable modeling and forecasting experience.
